Announcing the Children’s Book Hub!

I’ve been hinting about this for some time… and here it is:

I am very excited to announce a brand new center of information, resources and support for children’s book authors – The Children’s Book Hub!

The Children’s Book Hub is a membership-based ‘virtual salon,’ featuring lively, ongoing discussion about writing and publishing for children and young adults, as well as all the latest trends in the children’s book industry.  My goal as ‘Hub Host” is to provide the best, most valuable information, education, news and resources for established and aspiring children’s book authors of all kinds, all year long. Hub members have access to…

* Free monthly teleseminars featuring Expert Interviews with authors, editors, agents and other notable members of the children’s book industry, plus recordings of each call after the event. (Among the industry experts lined up in the coming months are marketing and public relations expert Susan Salzman Raab of Raab Associates, bestselling children’s book author Kate McMullan (“I Stink!”) and esteemed literary agents Jennie Dunham of Dunham Literary and George Nicholson of Sterling Lord Literistics.)

* Free monthly Q&A calls during which I address specific member questions, plus recordings of each call.

* A monthly Newsletter focusing on items of interest in the areas of writing, editing, marketing, publishing and selling your books.

* A ‘brain trust’ community of support via a Members’ Forum.

* News about industry trends and resources, such as conferences, workshops, festivals, organizations and associations specific to children’s literature.

* Invaluable resource materials, such as lists of publishers that accept unsolicited manuscripts, editing checklists, submission information, marketing tools and ideas,  and more.

If you’re ready to start the New Year with a powerful commitment to take the next step in your publishing dreams, then join us at the Children’s Book Hub today.  Visit www.childrensbookhub.com for details.

If you’d like to take a test run and see more of what the Hub has to offer, please join me for a Free Q&A call on Tuesday, January 11 at 7 PM EST. Click here for details.

Whether you’re an established children’s book author looking for a “think tank” community of support, or an aspiring writer who longs to touch the hearts and minds of the next generation, the Hub will help you fulfill your vision.

Here’s to a year in which all your creative dreams come true!

You likely know already how delighted I am about the Hub and all the possibilities that exist in and through it — Congratulations, Emma, on this next step in your becoming a vital voice in the art and craft of children’s writing! And thank you for this opportunity to join with others in this new community.

I hope many will join — and will make their voices heard — so that it truly becomes a vibrant community of shared ideas, thoughts, aspirations, encouragements, knowledge, and questions.

    Thanks again,

    Beth

Yes, please join us at the Children’s Book Hub! Emma has created a wonderful venue for aspiring and established writers to meet, discuss their work, ask questions and learn from from each other. Her monthly teleseminars feature agents, publishers, and successful authors. The first one was very enlightening.

I look forward to meeting you at the Hub!

    Patricia

Congratulations Emma on a vision coming to fruition. As one who lives half way round the world I am delighted you have been able to bring all this wonderful information, seminars, forums and resources that are accessable under the one banner “Childrens Book Hub”. I look forward to playing in this sandbox of childrens literature with many others.

    Good morning,
I just signed up for the Children’s Book Hub. I just had my first book published–If Trees Could Talk. It is available at Amazon.com. I am eager to start a dialog with parents, readers and writers about children’s books.
I have twin sons–Mike and William, age 11 and we read to each other all the time.
Does the Book Hub have a site for recommendations? A place young readers can discuss books they enjoy?
    Thank you!

    Paul

    Hi Paul –
I’m delighted to have you joining us at the Hub! I think as a newly published author, you’ll find a great deal there of value to you. I’m also delighted by your commitment to reading to and with your kids!
The Hub site is primarily for writers, and while there are plenty of opportunities to find and make reading recommendations, they will only be accessible by your fellow Hub members, who are all adults, albeit many of them parents (and of course, writers). In terms of a place for young readers to discuss books they enjoy, I recommend Kids Reads (http://http://www.kidsreads.com), “Bookhooks” (http://www.bookhooks.com), the Spaghetti Book Club (http://http://www.spaghettibookclub.org), KidsBookshelf (http://www.kidsbookshelf.com) and of course Amazon.com.
    Best,
    Emma
